Chambray, Olive & Studs

IMG_3524eIMG_3542eIMG_3567e

Today I am using chambray as a layering piece in a different way than I’ve done in the past.  My chambray top was used as the starter point for this look and then I added a black blazer on top.  I love the way the black, chambray and olive colors really compliment each other.  It’s great to have a pair of edgy and comfortable boots in your wardrobe like these studded ones.  They are currently my go-to for trekking around the city!  Do you have a favorite pair of boots you practically live in?

Dressed Down Maxi

I’ve done a dressier maxi look before but wanted to show a more relaxed maxi skirt outfit.  I wore this easy outfit for a day browsing the great pieces at Beacon’s Closet vintage clothing store in Brooklyn.  I even found some cute pieces to take home!  The soft cotton maxi, lived in David Bowie T-shirt and chambray button down make for a super comfortable outfit.  You also can’t get more effortless than throwing on a pair of Converse sneakers!

The Blues

This outfit is actually from a couple of weeks ago when we were having some cool summer weather, however, it really would be perfect for the gorgeous fall temperatures we are currently experiencing!  Seriously, how lovely is it out?!  Fall is my favorite time of year, hands down.  I did a neat jean on jean look here with my light-colored chambray top and dark denim jeans.  I’m even sporting a fun metallic tote that I won from mark.’s #tweetyourstyle contest!  It’s awesome and goes perfect with this blue on blue look.  I finished it off with a great multi-colored heeled sandal that I couldn’t pass up!  I’m not a high heel gal normally but I had been drooling over these for some time and finally found them in my size at Target.  Score!

Jersey Skirt

I titled this post “Jersey Skirt” because it is sadly my last post from Ocean City, New Jersey.  I had the best time but it’s still good to be home after several days at the shore.  This skirt from StyleMint is also made of a jersey material and it is quite possibly the most comfortable piece of clothing I own!  It is literally weightless when you walk and brushes ever so gently against the legs.  I paired it with a sleeveless chambray top, a wide detailed belt and bright coral sandals for a pop of color!    More proof that chambray goes with just about everything!  You can also see the lovely purple leatherette statement ring I picked up while on vacation!  Because of the  high-low aspect and also by adding a collared top, I was able to dress this skirt up for a lovely dinner at The Crap Trap restaurant.  Yum!
