This jean vest got a lot of wear this summer here and here.  I decided to break it out again in winter to see if I could style it for the cold weather.  I ended up wearing a dark navy sweater with some metal detailing on the sleeves and a medium blue pair of jeans.  I included this scarf from mark. to add a light color and some shimmer in the midst of all the varying blues.  These pictures are a bit old as you can see from the hanging stockings.  Nothing really seems out of place to me, however, considering I’m still catching up on TV from before the holidays with many festive episodes!  I am also loving my site’s new look that I worked on this weekend!  I hope you like it!

Hint of Camo

I am so excited that camo print is showing up everywhere!  You can go big or go subtle with the trend and this T-Shirt from Gap is a perfect understated touch of camouflage.  I love how the stripes pop against the white of the shirt.  I chose these silky tan pants because I like playing with contrasting textures.  It’s fun to pair silky with a cotton like this T-shirt.  A cropped jean vest went perfectly with my high-waisted pants.   My signature black booties and an infinity scarf were the finishing touches.  You can also see another photo from this shoot in my updated About section here!

Chevron Maxi

I’m back with another post from Ocean City, NJ today.  This time from what I consider to be one of the all-time best beach boardwalks!  I can remember strolling down the boardwalk in OCNJ from the time I was little and it was great to do it again in a lovely maxi skirt.  I am quickly becoming a huge fan of the maxi skirt.  I decided on two colors this summer – a black one and this lovely blue chevron number.  I can see myself easily transitioning both into fall.  I love the graduated teals of this skirt.  I paired it with my new favorite jean vest (which is also a great transition piece for fall!) and a basic white sleeveless top.  I completed the look with some of my signature edgy jewels and a light teal ring to compliment the skirt.  It’s also good to stick with a neutral bag when mixing blues in your look.  What a gorgeous night to be walking the boardwalk!  There was even a game of mini golf with my fabulous cousins!

Tough Love Prairie

One of my favorite ways to wear a pretty summer dress is to toughen it up and make it edgier.  The ditsy floral print and light colors of this sundress make it the perfect feminine starter piece to add rugged layers and accessories.

In this case I decided to add cowgirl boots and a frayed sleeveless jean vest.  The fraying and boxy cut of this vest is what adds hardness to the piece.  An armful of edgy bracelets and a big statement ring were additional non-girly touches.  One of my favorite pieces – a heart shaped cookie cutter necklace made by my grandfather – added the “tough love” to my look.
